LONDON: DEPARTURE LOUNGE
The Collegiate Church of St. Peter AKA Westminster Abbey is the official church of Kings and Queens. The building has seen 38 coronations in its 1000-year history. The building was commissioned by king Edward the Confessor as a gesture of apology for breaking a promise to the Pope. Henry VIII took the Abbey from the Catholic Church in 1534 but it was saved from destruction by its association with the Monarchy. Many of Britain's heroes are buried here, such as Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Henry Purcell and Alfred Tennyson.
